The 2024 Student Library Research Awards are now open for submissions!

Did you have a student in 2023 who impressed you with their thorough, strategic, or insightful research? A student who went beyond your expectations, surmounted a significant research challenge,  or simply demonstrated their command of the research process with their ability to select, locate, evaluate, organize, and analyze appropriate sources?

If so, please encourage them to enter their work from your course for this year’s awards. The full announcement is linked here; please forward it to students you think would be good candidates. Entries require a short 500-750 word essay from the student about their research strategies and process and a completed Faculty Evaluation Form from the supervising faculty member.

In addition to awards for research work from 100/200-level courses and 300-level courses (excluding 360/370s), there are awards specifically for research work completed by first-year students, or as part of an independent study (250/250H and 350/350H). The work must have been completed for a course in Spring, Summer,  or Fall 2023 to be eligible for this year’s awards. Students who graduated in 2023 are still eligible to apply.

The deadline for entries is 5:00 pm on March 1, 2024, but please encourage students to apply as early as they can, and let them know what kind of lead time you need to complete the Faculty Evaluation.

Please feel free to email the awards coordinator, Karen Storz (kstorz), with any questions.
