We have trained a team of 25 LTS staff  to ensure classroom technology works smoothly for you as the semester begins. Each academic building will have staff (in black LTS Staff tshirts) ready to assist you. If you have any issues, call xHELP and someone will be dispatched immediately.

If you are teaching in a Macintosh classroom, you may wish to arrive a few minutes early to resolve a handful of known ONE TIME issues (listed below) on your classroom computer. LTS staff will be available to assist with the items below or anything else that may arise.

Known issues/solutions for Macintosh classrooms

  • Your first domain login will take 1.5-2 minutes. The second login will take 30 seconds or less.

  • Any problems with your login or installing software? Log in with labuser (password Germano). Labels are posted on every Mac monitor.

  • Not hearing computer sound? Hold down the OPTION key and click the speaker icon to choose the other sound output option. This is a ONE TIME change.

  • Does Word crash when you launched it? Relaunch Word. This problem may occur on first launch due to the Endnote and Zotero toolbars loading. This is a ONE TIME issue.

  • Does PowerPoint crash when you presented in full-screen? Relaunch PPT and it will run. Please let us know so a few additional preventative steps can be taken before your next class.

  • We have tested classrooms extensively, but if something happens please call xHELP so we can ensure all classrooms are performing well.

  • Is the Google Apps share window not working in your browser? Disable the AdBlock extension. (We can walk you this in less than 30 seconds). This is a ONE TIME change.

We are looking forward to the Spring semester and will continue to make adjustments to ensure a fully successful classroom experience.
