This exhibit illustrates the experience of African American students at Wellesley from the earliest years of the college through modern times. It also gives voice to African American history, literature, and culture through selections from the Elbert Collection, presented to the library by the second black graduate of Wellesley College, Ella Smith Elbert, class of 1888.

On display in Clapp Lobby and Reading Room through Spring semester 2017.
