Microsoft will not develop security patches for Windows XP after April 8. This means they will no longer be protecting this operating system — a very serious prospect that creates genuine urgency to do as they advise, which is to upgrade to a more recent operating system that they will continue to support.
LTS will work with you to figure out a solution by April 8; please contact the Computing Help Desk. Otherwise, we risk having vulnerable computers on campus that can be exploited, and therefore potentially cause issues for the entire community. If it is not possible to upgrade, we will work out a solution to minimize the risk.
